He was the father of four sons. Alan and wife Lois, Tim and wife Joyce, Chris and wife Robin, all of Mexico and Larry David who preceded his father in death on Sept. 23, 2000.
He had 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by one brother, Royal (Pete) Polacek of St. Louis; and two sisters, Ida Garriott and Dorothy Starkey, both of Fulton. Besides his parents and son, he was preceded in death by five siblings: August, Omer, and Charlie Polacek, Lilly Goodman and Minnie Payne and one daughter-in-law, Teresa Polacek.

Mr. Polacek served from 1942 to 1945 in the Army during World War II. He was in General Patton's Third Army Cannon Company. He fought in the Battle of the Bulge and the European Theater of Action. He was awarded five bronze stars.

Mr. Polacek retired from A.P. Green in 1983 from the maintenance department. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church of Mexico.
