Emma Lou Goodwin, 87, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, May 6, 2007. Emma was born to the union of Ambrose and Sarah Lynex on January 31, 1920 in Shelby, Texas.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 until 9:45 a.m. on Friday, May 11, 2007, followed by funeral service at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1302 Broadway, Galveston, Texas, with Father Niall Nolan, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery, Galveston, Texas.
Emma Lou accepted Christ at an early age. She attended Galveston public schools and was a graduate of Central High School. She worked as a Nurse Assistant. She was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Church until her health declined.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ambrose and Sarah Lynex; brother, Amos; sister, Sally; husband, Carlton Goodwin; and brother, Tommie Lynex, Sr.
Those left to cherish fond memories are: nephews: Tommie Lynex, Jr., Bernard Lynex of Galveston; niece, Beverly Gordon and husband Ronald of Texas City; host of great nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
