Shelby Melton, 72, of 1160 Manor Park, Long Beach, died Wednesday, July 19, 1989, in Long Beach.
Mr. Melton, a native of Hancock County, was a self-employed carpenter. He was an Army veteran of World War II, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and was a Baptist.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, Jack and Crecy Senith Perkins Melton, a sister, Nola Mae Melton, and three brothers, Oscar Melton, Herbert Melton, and Arthur Melton.
Survivors include five sons, Roger D. Melton and Jess S. Melton, both of Long Beach, Joey Lee Melton of Forrest, Johnny R. Melton of Biloxi and Clyde Jim Melton of Laurel; two daughters, Ms. Iris J. Melton of Lyman and Mrs. June E. Radcliff of Bay Springs; and 10 grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 10 am Friday in the Wolf Creek Cemetery in Hancock County. Reimann Funeral Home in Gulfport is in charge of arrangements.
