Born Nov. 14, 1920, in DuBois, she was a daughter of the late Samuel M. Hunter and Mary Almeda Daugherty Hunter. She married John R. "Chub" Caldwell of Falls Creek on June 3, 1941. He predeceased her in death in 1986. Together they raised three sons: John R. Jr. (Linda) of Virginia Beach, Va., Gary S., "Buzz" (Janet) of Skaneateles, N.Y., James J. (Judy) of Grosse Pointe, Mich.
She and Chub were blessed with seven grandchildren: Christen (Michael) Bovienzo, Jodi (Timothy) Trebilcock, John R. III, Yasmina, Socorro Guerre, Jay (Danelle), Jeff (Julie Cothron and daughter, Kelsey), David (Michelle), Joe (Maggie) and also were blessed with 15 great-grandchildren.
Family will receive guests and friends from 1-2 p.m. Saturday, June 21, at the Falls Creek Presbyterian Church.
A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. in the sanctuary where Sara Margaret played the piano and organ from the age of 13 to her "retirement" at 83.
Burial will be in the family cemetery in Beechwoods beside her beloved Chub.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations in her memory may be made to the Falls Creek Presbyterian Church, Main Street, Falls Creek.
