Elbert L. "Brownie" Brown, 90, of Pratt, KS died Saturday, June 21, 2014 at South Wind Hospice, Pratt, KS.
He was born on May 3, 1924 in Etlan, Virginia. On June 10, 1944, he married Maxine (Oller) Brown at Pratt, KS. She preceded him in death on November 11, 1992.
Brownie was a meter reader for the City of Pratt. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Pratt, KS, the Pratt Saddle Club, the Pratt VFW, American Legion Post 86 and the Elks. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was a Bronze Star and Purple Heart recipient.
Surviving are four daughters, Sandy (Terry) Henderson of Sawyer, KS, Linda (Larry) Young of Welden Springs, MO, Patty (Steve) Bowe of Medicine Lodge, KS, & Connie (Darryl) Meier of Pratt, KS; 10 grandchildren & 17 great-grandchildren; one sister, Thelma Hickman of Staunton, VA.
Brownie was preceded in death by his wife, three brothers, Daniel, Kenneth, and Roy and two sisters, Ellen and Elizabeth.
Visitation will be on Friday, June 27, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 pm. at Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Road, Pratt, KS 67124 where family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at 10:00 am. at Larrison Mortuary, Pratt, KS with Pastor Tom Walters officiating. Burial will be in Cairo Cemetery, Cairo, KS with military honors by the Fort Riley Honor Guard.

Memorials may be made to the Pratt Humane Society or the American Legion in care of Larrison Mortuary 300 Country Club Rd., Pratt, KS 67124.
