Inscription

"Alphonse C. Birkenbach Born Feb. 23, 1873" is inscribed above "Olivia A. Birkenbach Born July 13, 1880 Died Jan. 2, 1919" on the "Birkenback" [sic] and "Kelley" headstone at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Baltimore County. Based on cemetery records and a notice of death published by the Baltimore Sun, Alphonse is actually buried at Parkwood in a now unmarked grave next to his grandson Frederick L. Punte.
