He died at the home of his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Buck, Norwood.

He was a son of David and Jane Champney Riggs.

He married Miss Pearl Sealy of Parishville on Sept. 16, 1903.

He had been a carpenter by trade.

Surviving was his wife, a son, Robert, Principal of West Lyden High school; a grandson, Robert Riggs Jr.; two nieces, Mrs. Lola Pray of Sheridan. Montana; and Mrs. James Curry of Potsdam; a nephew, Chellis M. Riggs of Columbus, OH.

While a young man, he worked for 12 years as a salesman for H. L. Matteson of Potsdam. During these years he was
a familiar figure to the inhabitants of the North Country with his span of black driving horses and several carriages in tow. After Mr. Matteson's death, he carried on this business for himself for several years, until the coming of the automobile.
