Maudie Belle Parker Chasteen, 85, widow of Willis Raymond Chasteen, died Monday at her home in Lexington. A native of Hosman, she was the daughter of the late James Milton and Betty Jo Hembree Parker. She was a graduate of Lexington Community College, was a retired administrative assistant for the University of Kentucky Hospital and a member of Broadway Baptist Church. Survivors include her children, Alice and Virgil Hays, Jane Clark, Roland and Marsha Chasteen, Shirley Chasteen, Evelyn and Carl Ernst, Freeda and Kim Muhl and Burline and Robert Slone; 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Jesse Wayne Chasteen; a daughter, Lexine Harper and three brothers. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Road, Lexington, by Minister Ronnie Hupp. Burial will be in Bluegrass Memorial Gardens.
