Alice was probably born in Hampshire, England, around 1620. She married Moses Cox, probably in England. By 1640, they were in Hampton, Rockingham, New Hampshire, where Moses took the Oath of Allegence.

Alice, wife of Moses Cox, drowned, along with her son John and six other people, when the boat they were in capsized just outside the harbor at Hampton. The boat was on the way to Boston.

"A boate going out of Hampton River was cast away and the psons all drowned who were in number eight: Em. Hilliar, Jon. Philbrick and An Philbrick his wife; Sarah Philbrick there daughter; Alice the wyfe of Moses Cox, and john Cox his sonne, Robert Read; who perished in ye sea ye 20th of the 8 mo. 1657" Norfolk County Records.
