MARCELLUS RAMBO BENSON, 87, of Rockledge, FL.
Marcellus attended Cocoa High, attended Gordon Military College in Barnesville, GA, was a U.S. Air Force veteran, graduated from Emory University and the Southern College of Pharmacy (Mercer University) in Atlanta, GA, moved to Daytona Beach, FL, where he was a Pharmacist at Le Grande Prescription Shop and Halifax Hospital in Daytona. He returned to Merritt Island and opened Benson's Pharmacy, was a Founder and Director of the First National Bank of Merritt Island, President of Brevard Pharmacy Association and a member of the Kiwanis. He reinvented the pharmacy into "Benson's Hospital and Surgical Supplies", the first such store in Brevard County and was Director of Pharmacy at both Wuestoff Memorial Hospital and Cape Canaveral Hospital. Preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Eleanor Jean Watkins Benson, surviving are children, Diana Benson (Robert) Isaac, Marcellus, Jr (Debbie), Regina Benson Cook; grandchildren, Sean Robert Rambo Benson and Marcellus Rambo Benson, III, and 'bonus grandchildren', Nathaniel (Danika) Isaac and Gabriel Isaac. A graveside service will be held June 22, 2014. Published in the Florida Today on June 20, 2014
