Bud Sindelar, 84, of Las Vegas, Nevada, formerly of Sioux City, passed peacefully Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at his home.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Sioux City, with the Rev. David Hemann officiating. Burial will be at St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery, South Sioux City, Nebraska.

Bud was born on January 20, 1930 in rural Schuyler, Nebraska, the son of Myles and Julia (Divis) Sindelar. He attended District 30 rural school and graduated from Schuyler High in 1946. He enlisted, served and received honorable discharges from the Nebraska National Guard and the US Air Force.

He married Rita A. Spale, daughter of Adolph and Marie (Parolek) Spale, on October 25, 1950 at St. Mary's Church in Wilson, Nebraska. Their union was blessed with three children and 52 years of marriage. The couple resided in 10 states during their married life and retired in Las Vegas, Nevada in 2001. Rita passed from this world on February 10, 2003.

On August 23, 2003, Bud married Marjorie Larson Andresen of Balaton, Minnesota. Marge and her husband Andy were great former neighbors and friends from the 1950s. After the passing of both Rita and Andy, destiny brought Bud and Marge together. Bud was blessed further with four step-children, several step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren. Marjorie died July 18, 2005.

Bud was a member of St. Joseph Husband of Mary Roman Catholic Church of Las Vegas, Nevada. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus in Schuyler, Nebraska. He served on the board of St. Michael's Catholic Cemetary, South Sioux City, Nebraska, and was a member of the building committee for St. Michael's Catholic Church in Sioux City, Iowa. Bud was the true "Jack of all trades" and could fix anything.
