Florence May (McKean) Glud, 76, of Glud's Corner, died Tuesday June 16, 1964. Mrs. Glud had heart surgery on June 3.

She was born September 15, 1887 at Stillwater, Washington County, Minnesota and came to Washington in 1900. She was a graduate of Bellingham Normal School, which is now known as Western Washington State College. She taught school for nine years at Brownsville and Sheridan Elementary Schools before marrying William Terrence Glud on March 10, 1917. They settled in the Brownsville area and were known for developing Glud's Ponds. In 1948, they moved just north of Winthrop, Washington in the Methow Valley and ran a 160 acre farm. They moved back to their Brownsville home in about 1962, a home which they have owned for more than 40 years.

Mrs. Glud and her husband had been to Pullman to see their granddaughter Carole (Glud) Ahlfs graduate from Washington State University just before her heart ailment was detected.

Florence was pre-deceased by her parents, John Scott and Ida May (Wadkins) McKean. She is survived by her two sons: John Bryce Glud(e) of Seattle and Clarence Walter Glud of Aberdeen; a sister, Ruby Nyholm of Poulsbo; five grandchildren: Carole Glud Ahlfs, Nancy Glude Dimsdale, Linda Glud, Terry Glude, William Glude and Robin Glud, and one great grandchild.
