The sad news reaches us of the untimely death of James D. Little on Sunday, December 31st, 1916, at his home in the city of New York from Bright's Disease. He was more familiarly known to his intimates here as "Rob".

He had been sick for some time and about a month ago had to give up his position. While he was in very poor health, his family did not think that the end was so near. His death falls very heavy upon his aged mother, Mrs. Bailey, who was with him during his illness and death.

Mr. Little also leaves a wife and four children, two boys and two girls, and three sisters, Mrs. Root, Mrs. Camp and Mrs. Jerome. The last three live at White Plains. His father was one of the prominent citizens of Putnam County before his death in the eighties and at one time was editor of the Courier.

The deceased was a genius in mechanics and held many responsible positions in his lifetime. He will be kindly remembered by many both in this village, where he was born over 40 years ago, and at Kent Cliffs, where he lived for a time on the farm which his mother owned. The deep sympathy of those are extended to the bereaved family, especially to the mother for the loss of her son.

The funeral took place on Wednesday and he was buried in New Vernon Cemetery near Middletown, NY where three of his children lie.
