Rose Green is listed in the 1900 Census as having the occupation of "Type Setter".

Now you are hearing from yet another Ruth daughter. This is Robin this time. I wanted to let you know that I have a copy of the page from the U.S. census for 1900 that lists William O. Green and Francis H. Gebhardt and all their children! Their children were Ide A., Mary J., Rose L. (our grandmother), William R., Charles B., Ethel F., and Hazel. This is all hand-written of course and the reproduction is quite small so I'm not totally sure of some of the middle initials. Rose's date of birth is listed as March, 1878, in agreement with our "baby books". Her state of birth was California. She is listed as having the occupation of "Type Setter". We know that she worked for a newspaper for many years.

Mother is buried in Terre Haute in Rose Lawn Cemetery. She died on June 4, 1954. She was a Christian Scientist and had gone to Pennsylvania at the time of her death, to see some practitioners. We moved from Clinton about a year and a half later. That was when Dad remarried, we moved to Cartersville, IL. It is still hard for us all to believe the Vermillion Co. coincidence... to find our family back there over a hundred years later. Unreal!
