Margaret was born in Los Angeles, California on June 22, 1945 to Walter and Miriam Petersen. Margaret, the youngest of three children had an older brother Robert and an older sister Marjorie. She met her future husband, David Dawson, in high school. They were married in April, 1966. The union of David and Margaret produced four children, a son Timothy Eugene, and three daughters; Jennifer Marie (Curtis), Miri Anne (Caldwell) and Christine Joy (Ferry). Margaret lived in Chatsworth, California and attended the Chatsworth Foursquare Church as the children grew. As retirement came, Margaret and her husband relocated to Pahrump, Nevada where she attended Faith Fellowship Foursquare Church up until heaven received her on May 28, 2014.
Margaret's early years were focused on working within the Los Angeles Unified School District where she was a Special Education assistant and provided after school enrichment programs for the students by directing various plays and performances. She was very active in PTA and volunteer efforts for the enrichment of the students. After her last child finished elementary school, she moved into the baking industry and worked her remaining career as an assistant manager.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Marjorie Petersen. Survivors include her husband of more than 45 years David Dawson; children Timothy Dawson, Jennifer (Geoffrey) Curtis, Miri (Kevin) Caldwell and Christine (Dwane) Ferry and six beautiful grandchildren.
