Myrna Mae was born on Oct. 4, 1937, in Alton, Iowa, the daughter of Ralph and Wilmina (Kleinhesselink) Gebauer. She was raised in Orange City, where he attended the public high school.
On June 1, 1955, she married Verne Wielenga in Orange City. They made their home in Orange City, where she was a homemaker and a cook at the Maurice-Orange City schools.
She enjoyed fixing puzzles and traveling, including some winters in Texas. She liked volunteering at the Bibles for Missions store in Orange City.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years; four children and their spouses, Michael and Muriel Wielenga of Sioux Center, Iowa, Kevin and Dixie Wielenga of Orange City, Laura and Pete Schuelke of Ringsted, Iowa, and Mary and Mike Cline of Rockford, Ill.; 18 grandchildren, Daniel, Raelle, Erin, Abby, Autumn, Olivia, Zachary, Nicholas, Klayton, Emily, Samantha, Travis, Shayne, Shawna, Samuel, Kevin, Madeline, and Tyler; 16 great-grandchildren; a brother, Ralph Gebauer Jr.; and a sister, Barb Brock.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandchild, Jamie; and a sister, Joan Poppen.
Memorials will be directed to the Orange City Area Home Health and Hospice.
