Dr. Norman B. Griffith was born in 1862, in Charleston, Arkansas to Dr. George Theodore Griffith and Georgette Elizabeth (Smith) Griffith. He attended high school and college at Cane Hill, Arkansas, where he graduated in 1885. He then attended Little Rock Medical Colle and cmpleted his college in Memphis, Tennessee.
Dr. Griffith married a woman name Laura Mae Moore. The couple had 3 daughters: Anna Georgette, Marguerite Aile, and Myrtle.
Either his 1st wife died or the couple was divorced, but Dr. Griffith married again to a woman named Belle Search. From this union, there came 5 children: Modean, Herman Rhodes, Mary, Joh Thomas and Ruth.

Dr. Griffith rode horseback to care for his patients and also used a buggy for time to time. He practice encompassed western Arkansas and eastern Oklahoma. He had his main office in Enterprise, but went as far as Fort Coffee, Oklahoma.
He enjoyed fishing and farming. One note..he used shoes to place on his horse's hooves when crossing the the Poteau River which was iced over. He was know for his treatment of pneumonia and thypoid patients and many a doctor referred him their patients.
He was the great uncle of Walter Newman of Fort Smith, Arkansas.
