Well-Known Akron Man Dies Sept. 1

After A Brief Illness

Clyde Ross, of near Akron, who passed away September 1, 1953, at University Hospital, Iowa City, Iowa, after a brief illness, was a son of James and Ellen Ross, pioneer residents of this vicinity. He attained the age of 64 years, 8 months, 7 days. He grew to young manhood here and married Miss Ida Reemts.

Born to them were three daughters, Mrs. Marcella Van Dyke, Mrs. Irma Lembke and Miss Flora Ross, and one son, Norman Ross, all now residents of the west coast. Also survivng are three brothers, George and Wm., of Akron, and Belford, of rapid City, S. D.; four sister, Mrs. June Kauer, of Akron; Mrs.. Frank Smythe, of Water Valley, Ark.; Mrs. Etta Klauer and Mrs. Frank Lovell, of California.

Mr. Ross spent most of his life at farming in this locality. he was an ardent fisherman and spent many hours in the company of others enjoying this sport. He will be sadly missed by his reltives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Ross, and a brother, Charles Ross, of Miller, S. D.

Funeral services were held Saturday morning, September 5, in St. Patrick's Catholic church, Rev. Fr. J. G. Skahill officiating. Burial was in the Catholic cemetery.
