JENNET (JEAN) STEWART-MARION, (went by her middle name in most legal records), was born circa 1774 in South Carolina, according to the 1850 US Census. Records at the Chester District Genealogical Society in Richburg, SC indicate her maiden name was Stewart.

Jennet married William Marion circa 1793 in Chester District, South Carolina, and they had SEVEN Children of record:

James Marion (1794 - ?);
Ellen Susan Marion-Harvey (1796 - ?);
Robert Marion (1798 - 1835);
Rosanna Marion (1801 - ?);
John William Marion (1804 - 1872);
Nancy Marion-Cashey (? - 1846); and
Martha Marion-Torbit (1812 - ?).

It is believed that Jennet was laid to rest next to her husband, but there are not any headstone remains to confirm that theory. There is a Last Will & Testament on file for Jennet at the Chester County, South Carolina Courthouse (Transcribed below), and it is referenced in an abstract about Jennet's daughter, Nancy Marion-Cashey, within the book "Some South Carolina Genealogical Records."
