COOKEVILLE Funeral services for Larry Eugene Nunn, 73, of Cookeville, will be held Wednesday, Nov. 8, at 1 p.m. at the Cookeville chapel of Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Entombment with military honors will be in Crest Lawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends today, Tuesday, Nov. 7, from 3-8 p.m., and Wednesday, Nov. 8, from 10 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.

Mr. Nunn died Sunday, Nov. 5, 2006, at his residence.

He was born Oct. 28, 1933, in Green County, Ky., to the late Curtis Lee and Carrie Pearl Anderson Nunn.

Mr. Nunn was a wellknown business, civic and community leader. He started a lifelong radio/broadcasting career while in high school with WTCO Radio in Campbellsville, Ky. Mr. Nunn later worked in radio in Morganfield, Ky. In 1961 he and his family moved to Cookeville where he worked as general manager of WPTN (now 94.7 The Country Giant) and was general manager and coowner of Sunny 95 until his retirement in 2000. After retiring, Mr. Nunn worked part time in the Cookeville area for WLIV Radio in Livingston. He was an active member of Baxter United Methodist Church, an Army veteran and a member and past president of the Cookeville Civitan Club. Mr. Nunn was an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman and served on the State of Tennessee Wildlife Commission from 1981-1987.

He served on the Cookeville Planning Commission from 1998-2004 and had just completed a seven year term on the Board

of Directors of Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He married his wife of more than 51 years, Ruby Warren Nunn of Cookeville, on Mar. 24, 1955, in Jeffersonville, Ind.

In addition to his wife, his family includes a son and daughterinlaw, Monty and Cindy Nunn of Hixson; two daughters and a soninlaw, Lisa Nunn of Nashville and Lana and Bub Stockton of Livingston; two sisters, Norma Rogers and Lois Daffron, both of Campbellsville; and three grandchildren, Jeremy Nunn and wife Aleris of Chattanooga and Jonathan and Jessica Nunn, both of Hixson.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Nunn was preceded in death by three brothers, Bobby, Harold and Leon Nunn.
