Joan Bridget (Vlock) Barker, 82, of Georgetown, Indiana, passed away on Friday, June 20, 2014, at the Episcopal Church Home in Louisville.

She and her late husband were the former owners of Knit Boutique in Michigan City. Joan was also a former member of the Potawatomi Chapter of the Audubon Society and First Congregational Church.

Joan was born on Dec. 17, 1931, in La Porte, Indiana, to the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Wysocki) Vlock.

She was also preceded in death by her husband Eugene Barker.

She is survived by her children Thomas Barker and Lisa Barker (Ralph Bergmann) and grandson Max Bergmann.

Cremation was chosen following Joan's wishes. Visitation will be from noon to 3 p.m. Friday, June 27, 2014, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana, with a Memorial Service to follow at 3 p.m. Burial will take place at a later date in Cave Hill Cemetery.
