She was born March 11, 1949, in Oceanside, New York.
Heidi survived by four children, Kristeen Adamski, Darbie Young, Dustin Young and Bonnie Young. She leaves behind many grandchildren Kameron, Taylor, Rayn, Ariel, Aaliyah, Olivia, Josef, Julian, Sage, Jasper and Samone. She has a brother Richard Zoehfeld of Florida, a sister Kae Dickson of California, and a sister Diane Oliver of New York.
Enlisting when she was 22 years old, Heidi served in the United States Air Force from Feb. 26, 1971 to Oct. 29, 1971.
Heidi was a kind, forgiving, nonjudgmental woman. She enjoyed the modest things in life such as coffee, flip-flops, the newspaper and writing. She kept journals, poems, pictures and friends as her most valued possessions. Heidi enjoyed chatting with her family and making her grandchildren laugh.
Services for Heidi will be held Friday, July 25, at 3 p.m. at the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery in Agawam. A celebration of her life shall follow after services take place.
Donations in Heidi's memory may be made to the Northampton Survival Center Food Bank.
The Ahearn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
