Frederick T. Laws, 57, of 3404 Roselawn Ave., Cranston Heights, stricken at his home earlier today was pronounced dead on arrival at the Wilmington, General Division.
A native and lifelong resident of Wilmington area Mr. Laws was a World War II veteran and served in the European Theater. He had been employed as a maintenance painter for 22 years by Shapdale, Inc.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Rita B. Laws; a daughter, Rita Jean Laws and a son, James Edward Laws, both at home; a stepson, Vernon Baker of Newark; a brother, Frank E. of Bellemoor, three sisters, Mrs. Virginia Cochran of Newark; Mrs. Emma Maxwell of Pleasant Hills and Mrs. Elizabeth Burtell, Overview Gardens, and four grandchildren.
Services will be Thursday afternoon at 1 at the McCrery Funeral Home, 3010 Kirkwood Highway, Prices Corner, where friends may call Wednesday night. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery.
