Former Elaine Cadden, age 26, dies Unexpectedly:
Mrs. Elaine Cadden Doré, aged 26, of Washington D. C., wife of Francis Doré and a resident of Kane until 5 years ago, succumbed unexpectedly at the District of Columbia Hospital at Washington this morning, where she had been a patient with polio. She died 6 days before her 27th birthday. Mrs. Doré was apparently making an excellent recovery when complications attending the Bulbar type of polio resulted in her death.
The former Elaine Cadden, daughter of Harriet Cadden, and the late Thomas Joseph Cadden, of Kane, was stricken with the bulbar type of polio three weeks ago, and had been in an iron lung since that time. Her mother had been with her since she was stricken and was brought home yesterday by Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Cadden, Jr., accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Doré's two children, Sharon aged 4 and Danny, aged 3.
Mrs. Doré was born in Kane on November 20, 1928, attended elementary Central School, and was graduated from Kane High School in 1946. The couple moved to Washington D.C. about five years ago.
She leaves her husband and two children; her mother, Mrs. Harriet Cadden and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Mary Jane Chavez, of Kane; Mrs. Margaret Herron, of Kane; Thomas Cadden of Kane and Robert Cadden of Erie, Pa.
Arrangements are being made today for removal to Kane for final interment.
