Donald R. Calder, (Uncle Don to all 4-H kids) age 63 of Owosso, passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2014.

Funeral services will be held at Watkins Brothers Funeral Home in Corunna on Friday June 20, 2014 at 11:00 am. Pastor John Walworth will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday 2-8 pm.

Don was born on March 9, 1951, the son of Rex & Margaret (Solomon) Calder. He graduated from Owosso High School, class of 1969. On September 24, 1971 he married Diane Noonan at St. Paul Catholic Church. He loved hunting, horse racing, horses & training Hunt test, black lab dogs, member of the NRA and a 4-H leader. Don retired from General Motors after 31 years at the Chevy Truck & Bus Plant in Flint.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Diane, brother Rex & Donna Calder, brothers-in-law R.B. Willoughby, Dan & Carolyn Noonan, nieces Wendy & Vince Guerino, Hilary & Mike Countermen, Melissa & Armando Castaneda, Amy & Jeremy Darin, Kelsie Beacham, Madison Chmiko, nephew Adam Chmiko, 1 great niece and 2 great nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, nephew Nicolas Beacham, sisters Phylis Dodson and Anna Willoughby. Memorials are suggested to the Humane Society or the Shiawassee County Fair.
