BLAYLOCK, MARY JANE - age 75, of Knoxville, passed away Thursday, June 19, 2014. A member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church and active in the Knoxville music community, Mary Jane was an accomplished pianist and taught music for many years. She belonged to the Knoxville Music Club, and had performed with the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra on two occasions. Preceded in death by her parents, Jac Cooley, PhD and Bertha Hill Cooley; and son, Mark L. Blaylock. She is survived by her loving husband, B. Gordon Blaylock, PhD; sons and daughters-in-law, Stanley and Mary Pat Blaylock of Pittsburg, PA, and James and Tandy Blaylock of Nashville, TN; grandchildren, Davis, Bradford, Rees, Taylor, and Jamie Blaylock; brother and sister-in-law, James L. Cooley, PhD and June Cooley, PhD of Athens, GA. Graveside service will be held Sunday, June 22, 2:00 p.m., Highland Memorial Cemetery, with Dr. J. David Hester and Rev. Mike Wilkinson officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 - 6:30 p.m. Saturday, June 21, Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 6900 Nubbin Ridge Rd., Knoxville, TN, 37919.
