Carl "Peck" Wise, 73, of Butler passed away Tuesday at his home.
He was born Feb. 5, 1941, in Jefferson Township, son of the late William C. and Mildred (Knause) Wise.
Peck retired from HP Starr as a sales manager after 37 years of service. He was a member of Jefferson Center Church, F. & A.M. Armstrong Lodge 239, New Castle Consistory, Syria Shrine, past president of Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Company, and was the Saxonburg Carnival chairman for 30 years.
He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard.
Surviving are his three daughters, Melinda (Matt) Sevcik of Elizabethtown, Jeanna (Chuck) Martin of Cabot, and Dianna (Jeff) Crites of Butler; his son, William (Jennifer) Wise of West Sunbury; his six grandchildren, Amanda and Megan Wise, Nicholas Martin, Jacob Sevcik, and Julianna and Jordan Crites. He is also survived by his five sisters, Lillian Bachman, his twin Carolyn (Larry) Paulsen, and Shirley (Grant) Rodgers, all of Butler, Donna Hall of Sarver, and Bonnie Andring of Butler; his brother, Richard (Mary Jane) Wise of Butler; his companion of 18 years, Sandy Stoner of Cabot; and his numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers, Jim and George Wise, and his two brothers-in-law.
He had spent endless hours raising money for the Shriners Children Hospitals and was very passionate about helping children. Thus he became known as the "King of the Raffle." All who knew him, knew of his big heart. He loved people in general and loved to talk to anyone he met.
Wise- Friends of Carl "Peck" Wise, who passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2014, will be received at Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, with a Masonic service at 6:45 p.m.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Jefferson Center Church, 390 Frazier Road, Saxonburg, with the Rev. Jonathan D. West officiating. Private burial to follow.
