The memorial stone for Lt. Boothe which is found in Salt Lake City is actually a cenotaph. He was killed when his plane crashed into the sea off the coast of Florida, and his body was not recovered. He had been born in Ogden, Utah, and was an Elder in the LDS Church. He and his wife had had a daughter born a few months before he was killed.
