Michael Edmond 'Mike' Dumas

GALVESTON- Michael Edmond 'Mike' Dumas, 57, passed away on Saturday, January 19, 2002, in Galveston. Visitation will begin today at 4:00 p.m. with a wake from 7-8:00 p.m. at E.R. Johnson Family Mortuary. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 25th, at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. A.W. Colbert, officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.

Mr. Dumas was born September 19, 1944, in Galveston, Texas, to the union of Harry and Stella Chargios Dumas. He was employed for many years as a crane operator at the
Galveston Wharves through ILA Local 20. Mike will always be remembered for his favorite past time, riding his Harley motorcycle.

He was preceded in death by his father.

He is survived by his mother, Stella Dumas of Galveston; his children, Barbara Anderson of Oakland, California,
Michelle Charles of Galveston, Sonya Hampton (James) of
Texas City, John Anderson of Houston and Ruby R. Jones of
Galveston; brother, David B. Dumas of Houston; three grandchildren, Herchel Cooper, Brittani Courville and Chasmond Anderson; great uncle, Gustav Donate; aunts, Theresa Prudhomme and Marie LeBouef all of Louisiana; devoted companion, Edna Edwards; devoted friend, Albert
Perry; host of cousins, other relatives and friends.

The family wishes to extend sincere thanks and appreciation for their support to the staff of Edgewater Retirement Community and ILA Local 20.
