MAHOLA VIOLA (ALLISON) STEVENS, 88, of Alton, formerly of Nebo, died Monday morning, June 26 at 5 in the College Avenue nursing home at Alton. Services were held Wednesday morning at 11:30 in the First Baptist church at East Alton. Burial was in the Nebo cemetery. Mrs. Stevens was born at Nebo, Aug. 20, 1878, a daughter of Felix and Sarah Pruett Allison. She was married to John Stevens in 1898. He died April 5, 1935. Surviving are two sons, Wayne and Gerald Stevens of Wood River; five daughters, Mrs. Harvey (Dora) Smith of Nebo, Mrs. Harold (Icie) Chamberlain of Wood River, Mrs. Pauline Hartsock of Roxana and Mrs. Guy (Alice) Siglar and Mrs. Fred (Maureen) Sutton of East Alton, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
