George R. Priest, 84, of Shepherd, died Wednesday, May 9,1984, at Gratiot Community Hospital in Alma.
Services are scheduled for 2 p.m Sunday at the Berry Funeral Home in Shepherd with the Rev. Harry Peek of the Oil City Assembly of God Church officiating Burial will be at the Salt River Cemetery.
Mr. Priest was born June 13, 1899, in Rosebush to John and Dora (Shellabarger) Priest. He married Mercy R. Raymond on June 22, 1921. She preceded him in death in 1961.
He married Mildred Aeschliman on Sept 28. 1965, in Pennfield.
Mr. Priest spent most of his life in Pleasant Valley in Jasper Township For the past several summers he resided in Traverse City, and during the winters in Fort Myers, Fla.
Mr. Priest is survived by two sons, John of Shepherd and Shirley of Alma; two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Mary Jane) Baldwin of Sumter and Mrs. Richard (Ruth) Moore of Constantine; a brother, Frank of Mt Pleasant; three sisters, Mrs Glenn (Dora) Karcher of Remus, Mrs Harold (Dolly) Miller of Flushing and Mrs Melvin (Betty) Thompson of Muskegon and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mr. Priest was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred, on Sept 28. 1965, and a sister, Maggie James.
