From Ancestry.com: Born at Liberty, Missouri. Served in Mexican-American War. Married Elizabeth Haynie. Joined Confederate Army in 1861. Became Captain of Company E, 1st Missouri Cavalry, C.S.A. Led troops in battles of Newtonia, Cane Hill, Prairie Grove, and Springfield. Killed in the battle of Hartville in 1863. His daughter, Nancy Louisa Garrett (1848-1930), is the great grandmother of Linda and Laurie Reynolds.
