Ruby Carl Chambers, 91 of Benton, Kentucky died on Monday, June 16, 2014, at Jackson Purchase Medical Center in Mayfield, Kentucky. He was a member and deacon of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. Mr. Chambers was retired from the Laborers and Teamsters Local Union. He was a veteran of the US Army.
Surviving are his wife, Della Ravine (Byerly) Chambers; son, Larry Wayne Chambers of Benton, KY, daughters, Sharon Combs of Benton, KY and Lisa Karen Runkle of Paducah, KY; 8 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Curtis Chambers and Annie D. (Hunt) Chambers; 3 brothers and 1 sister.
A Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 19, 2014 at Collier Funeral Chapel located at 211 West 5th St. Benton, Kentucky 42025 with Rev. Jack Kee and Mark Combs officiating.
Interment will follow in Benton Cemetery, Benton, KY.
Visitation will be held between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at Collier Funeral Home, Benton, KY.
