Reba Toney Scott, 91, of Roanoke, passed away Sunday, June 15, 2014 following a courageous battle with cancer. She was a loving wife, mother grandmother, sister and friend to many. Mrs. Scott was a member of Garden City Baptist Church for 63 years, where she was also a longtime Sunday school teacher. She was also a member for many years of the Roanoke County Christian Women's Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Annie Toney; five sisters; and three brothers. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Hubert Scott; a son, John Eary of Ringold, Ga.; a daughter, Charlotte Scott Gregory and husband, Walter, of Roanoke, Va.; three granddaughters, Susan Eary McClure, and husband, Craig, of Chattanooga, Tenn., Julianne Gregory of Raleigh, N.C., Sarah Gregory of Roanoke, Va.; three great- grandchildren, Tory, Jacob and Abby McClure of Chattanooga, Tenn.; a sister, Dean Toney Shell, of Roanoke, Va.; her loving sisters-in-law, Nora Saul, Evelyn Smith, Rachel Hall and husband, Lawrence; many nieces, nephews and special friends.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Good Samaritan Hospice, especially Kelly, Beth, Brenda, Marcie and Chaplain Marvin Barbree, and also Pastor Jay Fields and wife Nancy, and their many friends at Garden City Baptist Church.

Services will be at Oakey's South Chapel on Brambleton Ave. at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2014. Pastor Jay Fields and Pastor John Sweeney will officiate. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Oakey's South Chapel from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday June 17, 2014. Arrangements by Oakey's South Chapel.
