DOYLINE, LA – A Memorial service for Billy Joe Robbins, Jr. will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 19, 2014 at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel with Bro. Billy Pierce officiating. Inurnment will follow at Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at 12:00 p.m., prior to the service.

Mr. Robbins was born on December 21, 1954 in Denver Colorado to Billy Joe Robbins, Sr. and Carol Ward Robbins of Jacksboro, TN. He served in the Air Force for 20 years. He was a veteran of the Gulf War and had tours of duty with Operation Desert Storm. He was awarded multiple service medals during his career including an expert in small arms marksmanship ribbon and a bronze star.

Billy Joe is preceded in death by his sister Sherry Swanstrom. He is survived by his parents, wife Glenda Robbins, mother of his children Diane, children Shawn Robbins and wife Crystal, Shannon Hardesty and husband Mike, and Brianne Lee and husband Chris, grandchildren Peyton and Preston Robbins, Alyssa and Andrea Hardesty and Brittney and Kenneth Lee, sister Pam Robbins Riggs and husband Bobbie, brother Michael Robbins and wife Marie, stepchildren Ronald Eastridge, Jr. and wife Jaime, Chris Jones and Tanya Mitcham, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives.
