JAMES KLIER ENGEL - James was born March 22, 1936 in Fredericksburg, Texas to Benno and Elizabeth Engel of Luckenbach, Texas. He attended elementary school in Luckenbach and graduated from Fredericksburg High School in 1954. He attended Texas Lutheran College followed by two years in the US. Army. James worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad 1956-1963; Atomic energy Commission 1963-1965; and the San Antonio Police Department from January 1966 until retirement in October of 1996. James enjoyed dancing to Country Western, Square Dance, round Dance, and Cajun Dance. He and his wife, Peggy traveled extensively to Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, France, Canada, the Caribbean and the US. His father Benno Engel preceded James in Death. He is survived by his mother, Elizabeth Engel; loving wife of 28 years, Peggy Engel; son, Richard Engel and wife, Betsy; brothers, John Engel and Benno Engle and wife, Jan; sisters, Della Pohler and husband, Milton, Rose Patton and Jonell Lamothe and husband, Richard; three grandchildren, Brant Engel, Shane Hughes and Corey Hughes; and brother-in-law, Ron McCandless and wife, Lynn; and many nieces and nephews.

Services
Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 9:00 PM on Wednesday, March 16, 2005 at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North. Funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, March 17, 2005 at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North with interment to follow at Mission Burial Park North.
