The funeral of the late Newton Stilwell, who died last Thursday at his home south of this city, of pneumonia, was held at the home on Saturday morning, and interment was given in the Onaga cemetery. The funeral was in charge of the Odd Fellow lodge of this city, of which the deceased was a member, the ritualistic service of the order being used at the house and the cemetery.
The deceased was born in Ohio in 1848, and was nearly 59 years of age at the time of his death. He came to Kansas in 1859, but moved to Illinois in 1860. In 1883 he again returned to Kansas settling in this county, and remained here until his death. He leaves two sisters-Mrs. Mary Newlin, of this city, and Miss Tillie Stillwell, who resided on the farm with her brother, and one brother, John Stillwell, of Illinois, is also left to mourn the death of a brother.
