Kathy Louise Hughes, age 56, of the Pine Creek section of Swords Creek, Virginia, passed away Monday (June 16, 2014) in Bristol, Tennessee hospital. Born September 10, 1957 in Richlands, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Bobby and Hilda Bell Bennett Hughes. A lifelong resident of the area, she was a 1976 graduate of Honaker High School and attended Pine Creek Holiness Church. She had formerly been employed by Honaker Mills, Jacqueline Manufacturing, and Lear.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Vickie Hughes, and one nephew, Brandon Perkins.
Survivors include four sisters, Linda Messer of Wardell, Judy Robinette and husband, Wayne of Swords Creek, Rita Jean Baldwin and husband, Daniel of Swords Creek, and Donna Perkins of Lawrenceville, Virginia; one brother, Robert Hughes and wife, Amber of Charleston, West Virginia; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Wednesday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Jim Richardson and Rev. Luther Bowman officiating. Interment will follow in the Reed Valley Cemetery at Cleveland, Virginia.
Nephews and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers will be Men of the Pine Creek Holiness Church.
Friends may call at the Honaker Funeral Home after 6:00 PM Tuesday, where an evening song service will be conducted at 7:00 PM.
