Donna Jean Nehring, 64 years, of Fort Madison, Iowa died at 8:02 pm Saturday, April 12, 2014 at her home. She was born September 3, 1949 at Osceola, Iowa, a daughter of John and Ruth (McClellan) Hitchcock. On February 2, 1969, she married Daniel Dwight Nehring at Nauvoo, Illinois. He preceded her in death on December 31, 2006.

She spend most of her life in the Fort Madison area. She worked a Metromail for several years. She was a member of the Pampered Pals, Red Hat Society and of the American Legion Post #663, Urbandale, Iowa. She enjoyed antique cars.

She is survived by two daughters, Tina (Bill) Young, of Donnellson, Iowa and Melissa (Charles) Monroe, of Fort Madison, Iowa; 3 brothers: Tom (Vickie) Hitchock, of Des Moines, Iowa; Chuck Hitchcock, of Burlington, Iowa, and John Hitchcock, of Fort Madison, Iowa; one sister, Sandy (Curt) Bernand, of Fort Madison, Iowa; 7 grandchildren, and one great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister Peggy Walker, and one granddaughter, Makiha Brooke Chismark.

A graveside service and burial will be at 11:00 am Thursday, April 17, 2014 at Soldier's Circle, Oakland Cemetery, Fort Madison, Iowa. A memorial has been established, and contributions may be left at the Barr Memorial Chapel
