Juan Pedro Mejia passed away on Monday, June 2, 2014 at the age of 35. He is survived by his parents, Jose and Maria Mejia; his brother, Jose Mejia, Jr.; his sisters, Maria Eva Elmer and husband, Charlie and Veronica Balfour and husband, Michael; his nephews, Cruz, Peyton and Christopher; his niece, Bella and his puppy, Diva. He is also survived by other relatives and numerous close friends.
Juan was a lifelong resident of the Metairie/Kenner area. Despite his challenges in life, Juan persevered through them and as a result, encouraged and inspired those who knew him.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at the Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Dr. Metairie, LA on Friday, June 6, 2014 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be on Thursday, June 5, 2014 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and again on Friday, June 6, 2014 from 9:00 AM until Mass time. Interment will be at a later date in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
