A noted New York "Tammany Hall" Democratic Party politician.

Son of Eyre Coote Croker and Frances Laura Welsted.
His father was "a horse doctor" before emigrating to America in the mid-1840's.

Richard Croker was initially buried in a tomb at his home, Glencairn.
When the house was sold by his widow some years after his death, the new owner had the tomb opened, and arranged for his remains to be buried in Kilgobbin Cemetery.

1914 was a very traumatic year for Richard.

Stella Bowman died January 1914.

Richard's first wife, Elizabeth "Bessie" Frazier [from whom he was separated] died in September 1914, whilst on holiday in Austria. She was buried in America on 6 October 1914. Richard attended her funeral.

He married Beulah Benson Edmonson [1884-1957] in November 1914.
