BROCK, Ruth Marie, age 88, was born in Kokomo, IN, the third of 3 daughters born to Rudolf A and Laura E A. (Kerkhoff) Rosenbrock on June 21, 1925. She was baptized into the Christian Faith at Zion Lutheran Church in Kokomo, Indiana, July 1925. When the family moved to Detroit in 1927, they became affiliated with Emmaus Lutheran Church. She was confirmed May 15, 1938 with Rev. C. G. Riedel officiating, and was active with the young people. She married at Emmaus, where she remained a member until she transferred membership to St. John's Lutheran Church where her husband's family attended.

Moving to the suburbs of Detroit, they took up membership at Grace Lutheran Church in Redford Township, where she were active in Ladies Guild, starting a nursery circle for small children, and bowling with friends.
She worked for the Redford Record while living in Detroit. On moving out to the Milford area, worked at Gould Manufacturing in Howell until she retired. She went back to school in her early 60s and got her LPN at the age of 65. She worked in Martin Luther Home in South Lyon until her retirement.
She was preceded in death by her young sister, Dorothy Louise, on July 16, 1925, her father, Rudolf A. Rosenbrock in December, 1982, her mother Laura E. A. (Kerkhoff) Rosenbrock in October, 1985, and her sister Pauline in March, 2008.

Ruth enjoyed travelling, music, and reading, being a faithful supporter of several Christian organizations. She travelled as a young girl to New York City and seeing broadway shows, as well as traveling around the states, and to Europe in 1990 taking a "Where Luther Walked" tour. She was able to see St. Thomas Church in Leipzig Germany where Johann S. Bach played the organ and directed the Boy's Choir, and attended a Boy's Choir Concert, which was a highlight. She also went to Hawaii, China, Australia and New Zealand.

Funeral Service to be held from Our Savior Lutheran Church, 13667 W. Highland Rd., Hartland on Saturday, June 14 at 11 AM. The Rev. Christopher I. Thoma to officiate. Burial Glen Eden Cemetery, Livonia. Friends may gather at the church one hour prior to service beginning at 10 AM.
