Military graveside services were Oct. 4 at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO.

Deceased Name: Dwight H. Cox Sr.

Military graveside services for Dwight H. Cox Sr., 75, Richmond, Mo., will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville.

Mr. Cox died Monday, Sept. 30, 2002, at Liberty Memorial Hospital in Liberty.

He was born Feb. 14, 1927, in Lawrence, Kan., the son of Roy C. and Lucinda (Stockwell) Cox.

Mr. Cox was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, and the Korean and Vietnam wars. He retired as a lieutenant senior grade. He had been employed as a federal contract administrator at Midland International in Kansas City, Mo., and had worked for RCA in Kansas City.

He moved to Richmond in 1988 from North Kansas City, Mo.

He married Angela (Ansell) Johnson on Nov. 26, 1988. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include a son, Dwight H. Jr., California; two daughters, Barbara O'Meara, Pleasanton, Calif., and Laura Cox, Lawrence, Kan.; a stepson, Tracy Lee Johnson, Daytona, Fla.; a stepdaughter, Crickett Darlene Johnson, Polo; two brothers, Tracy, Independence, Mo., and Stanley S., San Diego; and six grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond.

The family suggests memorials to American Heart Assn., or American Diabetes Assn., sent in care of Thurman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 190, Richmond 64085.
