Born October 10, 1962, she was pre- deceased by her twin, Robert Bruce, as well as brothers Raymond Jr., Ralph Thornton, Leonard Thomas and Raymond Bruce; her father, Raymond B. Couch; fraternal grandmother, Marjorie L. Couch; maternal grandparents, Rosa Lee Moore Robinette and Jule Moore; and her precious Weimaraners, Ginger and Aileron. She is survived by her mother, Lois M. Couch; sisters, Beverly (Mike) Jillson, Shirley (Danny) Melvin, Nancy L.Couch (Jennifer), Mary Ellen (Buzz) King and Susan (John) Cacyuk; uncles and aunts, Carl and Del Fields, Ted and Marty Couch, and Tony and Bonnie Couch; nieces, nephews, cousins and an extended family of friends in Tampa, San Antonio, Texas, and Schertz, Texas. Dolores is an alumnus of Hillsborough High School and the University of South Florida. She graduated second lieutenant, ROTC, enlisted and proudly served in the U.S. Air Force. She was promoted rapidly, serving in Kuwait, Baghdad and Afghanistan in 2003 as director of public affairs. She returned to Lackland AFB as director of public affairs and was a candidate for promotion to colonel at the time of her death. Dolores was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, aunt and friend. Tiny in stature, she possessed a giant's heart, a passion for aviation, an adventurous spirit and a love of life. She was never too busy to make herself available to others. She effortlessly lifted you up, making you feel better about yourself than you may sometimes have had the right to feel. She was the personification of life, love, joy, dedication and integrity, and leaves a huge void in all of our lives. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday, November 4, 2004, at Marsicano Funeral Home, 4040 Henderson Blvd., Tampa. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday at Epiphany of Our Lord Catholic Church. A private inurnment will occur at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Tampa Bay Humane Society or Epiphany of Our Lord Catholic Church Fund.
