He was a member of the Springfield Police Explorer Post #326 and an Illinois Jaycee. He was a Cardinal Fan, a Nascar (Dale Jarrett #88) Fan and a true patriot. He also enjoyed redneck jokes and farming.
Micheal underwent a heart trsansplant at the age of 15 in 1988. He was the second longest heart transpolant survior in the United States at the time of his death.
Surviving are his father (Eddie) Steve Spann of Grayville, IL, Mother(Carol) Chris Cunningham of Peoria, IL, Grandmother Lily Cunningham of Springfield, IL, Sister Terri Spann of Peoria, IL, Brother Mat Spann of Springfield, two nieces, two nephews and several aunts uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by two grandfathers (Don Spann & Pat Cunningham), one grandmother (Mable Spann), one aunt Kathi Hill), one uncle (Kenny Short) and one cousin (Toby Hill).
