Carl Edward Smalley 83 of Dunbar WV passed away June 15, 2014 at CAMC Memorial with his loving family by his side. He was born in Charleston WV Nov. 28, 1929 . His parents the late Rev. Otho Smalley and Irene Hughart Smalley . Besides his parents he was proceeded in death by a infant grand child, and ex wife Genevieve Adams Smalley Mother of sons Ed,& Keith
He retired from Consolidated Freight in 1995 after 28 years of service. He returned home to WV after living out West for many years. He started his truck driving career when he purchased his own truck and transported new cars.
Carl first relocated to Kenosha WI then moving on to St. Francis, KS. He finished his trucking career in Cheyenne, WY.
He loved driving from an early age and was a big fan of Nascar racing. Carl and Carolyn loved traveling and took many trips.
Carl is survived by his wife, Carolyn Sue Smalley; sons, Paul Smalley and wife, Tonna of Charleston WV, Edward Smalley and wife, Kay of Tomball, TX, and Keith Smalley and wife Kim of Frisco, TX; sister, Phyllis Cooper of Dunbar WV, seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren,several nieces and nephews and first wife Freda Stringer Smalley Mother of son Paul
Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Thursday, June 19, 2014 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home, with Pastor Ray Parsons officiating. Burial will follow at Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes,WV
Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
