LANCASTER -- Mr. Kenneth William Benton, 59, of 1958 Pinta Drive died Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2006, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill. The funeral will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Liberty Free Will Baptist Church, with the Rev. Tim Larrimore officiating. Burial will be at Unity Cemetery in Fort Mill. A native of Waxhaw, N.C., Mr. Benton was a son of the late Grady Benton and Myrtle Gordon Benton. He was of the Free Will Baptist faith. Surviving are his wife, Frances Dunlap Benton; four sons, Joel D. Miles and Sam F. Miles, both of Lancaster, Tod C. Miles of Five Points, Ala., and Eddie Miles of Jefferson; five daughters, Mildred Delores Moul of York, Darthalee Benton Araiza of Charlotte, Betty Lee Shirley of Greenwood, Tammy Annette Bouday of Greenville, and Angel S. Patrick of McConnells; three sisters, Aileen Cooney and Faye Benton, both of Charlotte, and Frances Harrington of Waxhaw; 25 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, Kenneth William "Champ" Benton Jr. and Jerry Le Benton. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Lancaster Funeral Home and other times at home. Memorials may be made to Liberty Free Will Baptist Church, 3026 Camp Creek Road, Lancaster.
