Jeanette Coomler was born Oct. 19, 1916, in Portland, to Clyde and Jeanette Davis McCulloch. She married Howard Coomler on June 16, 1935, in North Howell, Ore. He died in 1992.

Her mother died when she was 3 years old and she was then raised by Lovena and John Mount in Silverton. She attended Silverton schools. Several years after marrying, she moved to Cottage Grove.

She was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening and raised prize-winning dahlias. She moved to Salinas after her husband's death to be near family members. Her family will remember her for her creative sense of humor and her distinctive phrases and expressions.

Survivors include two daughters, Diane Berg of Salinas and Kristi Sherrill of Medford; two sons, Richard of La Pine and David of Portland; a sister, Dorothy Richmond of Oakland, Calif.; and numerous grandchildren; and great-grand- children.
