US Congressman. He was the son of Peter Sterigere and Ann Elizabeth Houpt. U.S. Representative from Pennsylvania 5th District, 1827-31. He taught school, was appointed a justice of the peace, and was elected to the Pennsylvania legislature before running for Congress.
