Rachel Lucille Pridemore, 74, of the Camp Creek Community, passed away at her home on Saturday afternoon, June 14, 2014. She was born on April 26, 1940 to the late Luther and Cora Lee Chandley. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and was loved by many.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years: Grover Pridemore; three daughters: Rita Cornwell and husband, Kenny, Penny Lane and husband, Bill, all of Greeneville, and Casey Pridemore and fiancé, Jimmy Marshall, of the home; two sons: Wayne Pridemore of the home and his girlfriend and her daughter: Leasa Thompson and Kaylee Jordan of Greeneville, and Allen Pridemore and wife, Sabrina, of the Greystone Community; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; good friends: Jeff and Diane Price and daughters, April and Kattie, of the Camp Creek Community, whom she thought of as a son and daughters; special friends: Lois Johnson and the late Lois Jean Metcalf; special friends of the family: Myrtle and Guy V. Morgan, Harold and Winky Ricker, Woody Kahley, and Imogene Parkins and many more. Special recognition to her brother-in-law, G.W. and Kitty Pridemore and family all of Kentucky.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a son: Terry Lynn Pridemore; two brothers: Gene Chandley and Fred Chandley of Greeneville; great-granddaughter: Morgan Cansler.
The family will receive friends from 4 – 6 p.m. on Tuesday at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow visitation at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Dr. James Kilgore will officiate. Family and friends are asked to meet at Doughty-Stevens at 10 a.m. on Wednesday to go in procession to Doty's Chapel Cemetery for the 11 a.m. committal service.
Pallbearers will be Monte Cansler, Steven Yokley, "Austin" Trevor Kemp, Jimmy Marshall, Josh Britt, Keith Gray, and Ron Gunter. Honorary pallbearers will be David "Pete" Lamons and Chris Ridings.
The Pridemore family wishes to express many thanks to all the staff at Dr. Hartsell and Dr. Sonja Woods's office and to the nurses, caregivers, and staff of Caris Hospice for the love and care given to Mrs. Pridemore.
